Not only do you save money using our retrofit, but it also includes many advanced features that were not available at the time. We add these new features into either existing terminals and connectors or by adding a cable. We can take your integration a step further and add new features that were not available in the previous model, like Internal Modem, Ethernet and IRIG-B. Our custom design mounts flush to the meter’s enclosure so it doesn’t protrude out from the front. This allows you to keep existing wiring and engineering drawings since it will remain the same. In all retrofits, we duplicate the exact features that were available in the previous models, like the circuit connections (voltage/current), I/O and Communications. This takes the hassle and worry out of rewiring, drawing changes and mounting issues. We designed our JEMStar II High Accuracy Revenue Meter to fit into the existing meter enclosure (short or tall) and connect to the wiring for a plug and play replacement option.
AMETEK Power Instruments can ease those troubles of replacing old legacy meters with our JEMStar II High Accuracy Revenue Meter retrofit. There’s no guarantee you will be able to find the original drawings which have to be revised for a new meter. In addition to wiring, you will have to make mechanical considerations for installing a new meter that doesn’t fit within the panel cutout. Imagine being tasked with replacing a 30-year-old meter with little expertise on the product or how it’s wired.
